Value Proposition
We don't just help clients apply AI across the Atlassian ecosystem — we run our own operations on it. This is a look at how AI is embedded in our billing operations, our workflows, our knowledge base, and the guardrails that keep it all accountable.
What's Inside
01
A custom Jira app, built with Claude Code and Forge MCP, that runs billing end to end.
02
Rovo agents that create, review, and hand off work items automatically.
03
Agents that keep our wikis, client briefs, and docs accurate without manual upkeep.
04
Best practices, an agent registry, and audits — the guardrails that keep it all accountable.
01 · Custom Forge App Development
Background
Billing for our own services and licenses ran on a patchwork of Jira automations, external scripts, and manual steps. We aren't an app-building business — our only app experience was building legacy Data Center apps — but invoicing and quoting volume had grown steadily for years, and Jira was already the hub tracking all of it. The result was an invoicing system cluttered with multiple draft estimates and invoices for the same deal.
Solution
We used Claude Code with Forge MCP to build a custom app embedded directly in our Jira instance. Plugging in the Teamwork Graph CLI and Rovo MCP feeds the app context straight from Jira tasks and related knowledge, and a Claude agent built into the Jira workflow can make code changes directly from the board.
Outcomes
02 · Agentic Workflows
Rather than standing up new tools, we plugged agents directly into the workflow steps we already had — creating, reviewing, and handing off work without giving anyone something new to learn.
A Rovo agent scans Confluence process docs daily and creates matching work items — assignees, details, and even fuzzy recurrences like "every odd year."
An agent reads invoice PDFs and populates the matching work item directly — faster intake, fewer manual entry errors.
A second agent checks items like bills and invoices for common errors before they move forward, catching problems earlier.
Agents watch work-item status and hand off automatically, updating status and assignee so the next step starts itself.
03 · Agentic Knowledge Management
We moved wiki maintenance from a manual chore to a standing agent job.
Featured example
A parent agent with sub-agents that maintains client data across the wiki and Jira:
Overview of the business, customers, and culture, drawn from public web data
Built from past meetings and projects
Sourced from meetings, projects, and Slack — including Atlassian AEs
Kept current without a manual status round-up
Runs regularly to check documentation for accuracy and make requested updates.
Combines specs, design, and tone guidelines to produce client presentations and value propositions — this document among them.
04 · AI Governance
More agents means more surface area — so governance is built in, not bolted on afterward.
